All CMCSB positions require background investigation, which may include a reference check, criminal history record check, Department of Social Services child abuse and neglect check, and a driving record check. Virginia’s barrier crime laws prohibit persons convicted of certain statutorily-defined crimes from obtaining employment with certain employers, mostly those employers specializing in the care of vulnerable populations, such as children, the elderly, and those with physical and developmental disabilities.
