Text Box: Here at Tazewell House recovery Center we feel that being a part of the community is an important step to our recovery. We already exist in a community that consist of our recovery center friends. There is probably no community that understands us better than our community here. But being a part of the wider community is also important.
For us to be accepted by the public and welcomed into many different groups helps us feel better about ourselves and our own Text Box: recovery.
It is important to us to be accepted by the community for who we are, not for what mental illness we have. We want people to see us as normal people so that they see that we are no different from them.
The way to make this happen is to become involved. Join in. Help yourself along your road of recovery and help others see you for the true person you are!

Text Box: Being a Part of a Church Community
Text Box: Hi! My name is Mary Watson, and I love going to the Central Church of Christ in Baptist Valley. I truly enjoy being part of the church community. My friends there are very supportive of me. They include me in activities. When I moved into my Text Box: new apartment, the church people gave me several gifts. In a way, they are like my family. They give me encouragement. If I’m going through a bad time, the church people will encourage me to read my Bible, pray a lot, and Text Box: attend every church service. All of this makes me feel better.
